Thanksgiving Day is an ancient holiday created by the American people, and it is also a day for American families to gather together. 

Initially, Thanksgiving Day did not have a fixed date and was temporarily decided by each state in the United States. 

It wasn't until 1863, after the United States became independent, that President Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday.

In 1941, the U.S. Congress officially designated the fourth Thursday of November each year as "Thanksgiving Day".

The Thanksgiving holiday generally lasts from Thursday to Sunday.

In 1879, the Canadian Parliament declared November 6th as Thanksgiving and a national holiday. 

In the following years, the date of Thanksgiving changed several times, until January 31, 1957, 

when the Canadian Parliament declared the second Monday of October each year as Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is a major holiday for Americans, second only to Christmas. 

The grand event that I am introducing to you today was held on this day - the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. 

Held since 1924, the parade lasts three hours and is attended by tens of thousands of people, making it the largest Thanksgiving parade in the United States.

In addition to various wonderful performances in the parade, the most eye-catching are the cartoon balloons.
